Polar is a member of the national UK Register of Pre-Qualified Construction Services (constructionline), and is an accredited member of the Contractors’ Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), which demonstrates compliance with health and safety legislation and management of health and safety issues, for local authority, education sector and housing association project tenders.
Locally, Polar is a member of the Redcar & Cleveland Council and Middlesbrough Council’s Double Glazing Partnership scheme, with a commitment to ‘fair, open and honest trade.’
Polar is fully committed to the health and safety of its clients, staff and contract workers. The company manifests this commitment by employing an external advisor on health and safety matters, and over 10% of the Polar workforce have been on health and safety in-house intensive training courses.
Additionally, all Polar installation engineers have full Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure certificate clearance:
- All installation technicians are CRB cleared
- This provides added security for school and nursery projects during term time
- Extra security for building projects in hospitals, nursing homes, youth clubs and other areas with potentially vulnerable residents or users
