Revitalising Schools

< back to news list

It is in schools that Polar has really shone this year, particularly over the summer, working in the education sector for eight separate local authorities on their summer programmes. Many of these schools have been worked on during the summer holidays, although Polar’s growing reputation as a careful, caring and high performing contractor has meant that more schools than ever are now happy to have Polar personnel operating on site during term time. This is in the knowledge that all Polar installation engineers are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) registered for head teacher peace of mind.

Head teacher Carl Faulkner of Grangetown Primary School, near Redcar, said the staff and children were delighted with the work Polar carried out in the first two phases of a three-stage refurbishment of this 1930s-established school:

“All jobs were completed on time, with a minimum of disruption, and all after-sales help was provided promptly. Parents really like the automatic doors, and it creates the right impression for the school, too.”

Head teacher Chris Evans of The Lakes Primary School, Redcar, also commented:

“Whenever we have work to be done, I’m always happy when it’s Polar, as they do a first-rate job. In the summer they carried out window and door replacements affecting the hall and creating disabled access and I’m always reassured to know Polar is working on site.”

Managing director John Wilson puts a lot of Polar’s success down to the skills of its staff:

”We employ dynamic, well-qualified and committed people across all disciplines and we focus on getting things right first time. This helps us work faster and smarter than many others in our industry, and we hope is one of the reasons we win an increasing amount of business from public and private sector organisations that we’ve worked with before.”

There is no doubt that in both volume and value of orders, this Middlesbrough company is going from strength to strength.
