Polar has had another successful year with sales records being broken throughout the year. The long hot summer days are behind us now, but the heat is still on in more ways than one. Contract targets still have to be met, the planet is warming up and not to mention the office temperature.
The coming financial year could not have started any better. We have received almost a quarter of this year's budgeted sales already, which is a testament to Polar being the preferred supplier to some major building contractors. Being selected as a preferred supplier is no mean feat and has only been achieved by each and every employee of Polar doing their best to provide outstanding service, quality and delivery on time. One major coupe has been getting our foot in the door with Bradford County Council. The work has been completed during term times, which is a challenge in itself making sure the children are safe at all times, and that we work around the schools requirements. The head teachers of both Cavendish and Burley Oakes
Primary Schools have been so pleased that they have given Polar nothing but praise to ourselves and the Council. So much so we have been successful in winning more and more school refurbishment contracts on the back of their recommendations. Other major clients have come to Polar this year, Sir Robert McAlpine and Laing O'Rourke to name just a couple. These are both big players in the construction world, and lead-times are key to them, so every effort must continue throughout 2007 in order to meet their timing plans.
ISO 9000:2000 Quality Management System
Polar is currently having our working procedures documented formally so that we can go for accreditation in the first quarter of 2007. Having a documented formal Quality Management System in itself can open doors, as some major clients will not deal with suppliers unless they have such accreditation awards. The progress so far is that the procedures have been drafted and are now being checked. They will be audited in the New Year and assessment by an external company should take place from March. Your continued support is appreciated, as we need to make sure all documents are available for inspection at any time, in order to assure compliance with these written procedures.
